Studio Information and Policies

Sue Daniels Photography specializes in portrait and event photography. Our approach to photography and the philosophy behind our business is this:

  • deliver only the highest quality images and products
  • we get it right or we’ll do it again at no charge
  • use only current, state of the art, professional grade equipment
  • use precise, technical know how of cameras and lighting equipment to capture the highest quality image
  • provide expert, in-house retouching and archival quality, in-house printing
  • use creativity, intuition and a little bit of “chuztpa”  to capture one of a kind, brilliant images

Studio and On-Location Shooting
Sessions can take place in our fully equipped studio or at a location of your choice. We travel to your house, event venue or favorite park or hiking trail. Travel time in excess of 1 hour one-way incurs an additional charge.

Down Payments
Most portrait sessions do not require a down payment. However, we do ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a session.
Full payment is due on the day of the session.
Weddings and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs DO require a 50% down payment at the time the contract is signed. The remaining 50% is due on or before the day of the event.

Session Etiquette
Please arrive on time for your session. Clothing should be clean and unwrinkled. You are welcome to bring several outfits which we can evaluate once you are here. Hair should be styled ahead of time and you should have your make-up applied. Nails should be properly groomed as they will show up in the images. If you prefer, we can provide the services of a hair and makeup stylist for an additional fee. Feel free to bring a parent, friend or spouse. An extra pair of eyes (and hands) is very helpful to both the photographer and you. Please leave your pets at home unless you have notified us ahead of time.

Free, Pre-Session Consultations
I would be most happy to meet with you over a cup of coffee or via telephone to discuss your upcoming event or photo session. There is no time limit and there is no charge. This is one of the best things you can do to ensure that you get the images  you want.

Online Galleries
If your package includes an online gallery, the gallery will remain online for 30 days after which time it will expire and the images will no longer be available for viewing. Once the gallery expires a $25 reloading fee will be charged to put the gallery back online.  Online galleries from various performances will remain online for 30 days after which they will expire and the images will no longer be available for viewing. Once a gallery expires a $25 reloading fee will be charged to put the gallery back online.

Ordering
Your images are guaranteed to be available for ordering up to 3 months after the date of your photo shoot or when your online gallery becomes available (whichever is later). It is strongly advised that you place your order within this 3 month period. Orders may take up to 6 weeks to fulfill (longer for photo albums and books) when placed within this 3 month period. Although I archive most sessions there is no guarantee  that your images will be available after 3 months from the date of your photo session. If your images are still available, I will make my best attempt (but there is no obligation on my end) at fulfilling orders placed after this 3 month window and orders may take up to 3 months to fulfill. Prices are guaranteed, as stated at the time of your session or event, for a period of 3 months. If your order is placed after this period of time (3 months from time of photo shoot) prices are subject to change.

Photo CDs, DVDs and Digital Downloads
If you purchased a photo flash drive,  CD, DVD, digital email or digital download, it is your responsibility to check that the content is correct. If the content is incorrect you must notify Sue Daniels Photography within 30 days of delivery of the digital content in order for it to be replaced at no charge. It is also the customer’s responsibility  to safely archive the digital images whether it be by copying the images to another medium or storing in a secure place. Digital images that are lost by the customer will only be replaced if the images are still available to Sue Daniels Photography and will incur a  $25 reproduction fee.

Digital File Format
After post-processing, editing and retouching, your ordered images will be delivered to you in jpeg format. We do not sell the Raw or PSD files as our intention is to provide you with a completed product that does not need further modification.

Retouching
Some basic retouching is provided as part of your session payment. We really do want your images to look great and, because we shoot in RAW format, some post processing is not only preferable but necessary. Extensive retouching (for example – removal of braces, major skin retouching for heavy acne, removal of tiny hair strands on face, removal or lessening of wrinkles, under eye bags, etc)  will incur an extra charge. You are free to discuss this at the time of your consultation or session and every effort will be made to keep the additional costs of extensive retouching down. Requests for special effects such as black and white, sepia, glow, cross-processing, antique finish, grunge, high contrast, etc. may incur an extra charge and is at the discretion of the photographer.

Image Redo
We want you to be totally happy with your images. If, for any reason, you are not totally thrilled, please notify us within 30 days of delivery of your order. We will redo the order based on your requested corrections. Exclusions: Photo albums, photo books, metal prints and canvas prints are excluded. These items are based on proof approval so be sure to carefully inspect your proof before we send these items to the lab for processing.
