This past weekend was Homecoming and I had the opportunity to be at Nederland High School’s Homecoming Dance. There used to be a time, not too long ago, when I knew most of the kids from the high school. My son, Jacob, went through the school system here and by the time he got to high school I not only knew the kids but the parents as well. When I showed up to photograph the dance this year, there were only a handful of students I recognized. Making me feel, well, a little sad. But time does go by and we all move on. I suppose that’s why I take pictures!

Poor kid - he didn't have much of a choice. I just handed him the gray card and said "stand in front of the camera and smile." I don't think he was planning to get his picture taken that evening.
